Day 1

M meet the guide and assistant in the morning at 8 am. We will check hiking equipment and then drive to the village of Mukhuri by minibus. On the way, we will stop at Martvili (Gachedili) Canyon, one of the most popular places in Georgia. After dinner, we will continue by truck from Mukhuri to the camping area. The road is rough, so it takes about 3–4 hours to cover 34 km. On the way, we will visit Shurubumu Cave, Gunji Waterfall, and the beautiful Kobistskali River Gorge. In the evening, we will meet local horse breeders, set up tents, make a campfire, have supper, and rest.

• Truck: 32 km (3 hours)

• Short hike: 1 km (20 minutes)

Day 2

On this day , we will hike to the Small Tobavarchkhili Lake. On the way, we will enjoy stunning panoramic views of forests, alpine meadows, and snow-capped mountain passes. We will stop for a snack during the hike. The camp will be near the lake, where you can swim, explore, and enjoy the scenery. In the evening, we will have dinner and rest.

• Hiking: 9 km (4–6 hours)

Day 3

After breakfast, we will hike to the Big Tobavarchkhili Lakes. On the way, we will pass a scenic rocky massif and the trail that connects the small and big lakes. The camp will be set up near the lakes. We will have dinner, explore the surroundings, and enjoy the sunset. In the evening, we will have supper and relax.

• Hiking: 4 km (2–3 hours)

Day 4

Today we explore the Tobavarchkhili area. We will visit Didghele, Kaliashi, and Tsakatskali Lakes and enjoy amazing views. From here, we can see the Svaneti Mountains and even Mount Elbrus, Europe’s highest peak. Rock climbing lovers can climb Mount Chitagvala (3,225 m, difficulty level B-2). In the afternoon, we return to the camp for dinner and free time.

• Hiking: 5 km (3–5 hours)

Day 5

After breakfast, we hike down to the local nomadic shepherds’ houses. On the way, we will visit the beautiful Toba Waterfall. In the afternoon, the shepherds will welcome us with fresh dairy products and traditional Megrelian dishes like elarji, gebzhalia, ghomi with sulguni cheese, and goat barbecue. The camp will be near the shepherds’ houses for dinner and rest.

• Hiking: 5 km (2–4 hours)

Day 6

After breakfast, we hike along the Magana River Gorge, known for its endemic plants and mixed forests. In the afternoon, we will spend time at the camp near the confluence of the Magana and Jalara rivers, set up tents, have supper, and relax.

• Hiking: 9 km (4–5 hours)

Day 7

After breakfast, we hike to the summer pastures called Kirnakhona. From here, we will see the beautiful lowlands of ancient Colchis. In the evening, we will descend by truck to Skuri village, then transfer by minivan to Kutaisi and Tbilisi.

• Hiking: 11 km (4–6 hours)

• Truck: 18 km (1 hour)

• Minivan: 65 km (1 hr 30 min)
